34th PANTAI MENTIRI GOLF CLUB OPEN CHAMIONSHIP 2025 Home / News Sunday 6th July 2025 – Awangku Syakir bin Pengiran Haji Alli emerged as the champion for the Men’s category title of the 34th Pantai Mentiri Golf Club Open Championship 2025. Second place in the men’s category went to Bryan Chew, while Qawi Aslimon finished in third. In the ladies’ event, Almas Syadzwanie Kamis emerged as champion, with Chung Nyuk Mee in second place and Agnes De La Cruz taking third. The guest of honour, Permanent Secretary (Culture) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, presented prizes to the winners. Colonel (Rtd) Zahrin bin Zunaidi, chairman of PMGC shared that “the championship is an annual event of Pantai Mentiri Golf Club, and this year has received very encouraging response with 102 golfers from Sabah and Sarawak, Malaysia, as well as from Brunei Darussalam taking part.”

Pantai Mentiri Golf Club 3rd Senior Open Golf Championship 2025 Home / News Thursday, 3rd July 2025 – The 3rd Pantai Mentiri Golf Club Senior Amateur Championship 2025 concluded with Tony bin Haji Karim winning the senior men’s championship with a score of 144. Second place went to Johari Haji Ahmad with a score of 154, while Haji Shahminan bin Haji Damit finished in third place with 154. In the senior ladies’ category, Agnes Hiu emerged as the champion with a score of 165, while Edora Majiniu and Julia Hwong Hary Huay took second and third places. Deputy Permanent Secretary (Infrastructure, Housing and Professional) at the Ministry of Development Haji Shaharuddin Khairul bin Haji Anuar, the guest of honour, presented prizes to the winners. Willie Liau won the hole-in-one prize for Hole No 7, which was presented by Chairman of Pantai Mentiri Golf Club Colonel (Rtd) Zahrin bin Zunaidi. Colonel (Rtd) Zahrin bin Zunaidi said, “The championship is an annual event of Pantai Mentiri Golf Club. It has received encouraging responses with 158 senior golfers participating, including golfers from overseas.

22nd ROTARY CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT 2025 Home / News Sunday, 11th May 2025 – The Rotary Club of Bandar Seri Begawan held its 22nd annual charity golf tournament which saw a total of 98 golfers participating in this charity tournament to raise funds to support its bursary programme for students from low-income families. The winners of the tournament were Bryan Chiew for the Best Gross Score (71), Lt Mahendra Phagami for the Best Net Score (67), Mohd Khairol bin Haji Paun for Division ‘A’, Dato Harith Karim for Division ‘B’, and Lim Soon Bee for Division ‘C’.

Around 65 of Brunei’s amateur golfers participated, with Bryan Chiew winning the overall gross championship. The donation collected from the tournament was presented to SMARTER.

This event, organized from 4th to 6th October 2024, had gathered over 150 golfers, which featured various categories. The championship was organized by the Golf Match Committee in collaboration with Pantai Mentiri Golf Club. Winner of the Cup went to Bryan Chiew Chun Hao (Men’s Category A), Azme Julaihe (Men’s Category B). Congratulations to Mr. Bryan Chiew Chun Hao, who will represent Brunei at the BMW Golf Cup World Final 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand, in March 2025.
